ORLANDO – The Florida Blue Foundation will host its 2023 Community Health Symposium and Sapphire Awards on April 12-13 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando located at 9801 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. The event will feature general sessions, panel discussions, professional development, and networking opportunities for more than 600 executives and others from health care, government, higher education, and nonprofit organizations. Presenters and speakers include national, regional, and Florida-based experts on a variety of issues affecting communities, health, and health care policy. This year’s symposium will focus on the topic of mental well-being.
In addition to the renowned list of experts and speakers, the symposium will feature a special “Mental Health MythBusters Youth Panel” comprised of local leaders and students from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. The students will share their stories, describe the myth-busting tools they use, and discuss how their innovative program is increasing awareness and decreasing the stigma around mental well-being amongst their peers.
The Sapphire Awards were designed in 2005 by Florida Blue Foundation to recognize excellence and innovation in community health leadership and programs in Florida. Since then, 130 Sapphire Awards, totaling more than $6.5 million, have been awarded to programs, organizations, and individuals across Florida. The 2023 Sapphire Awards will honor, through a competitive external review process, outstanding programs, organizations, and individuals whose services are distinguished by exemplary leadership, innovation, and documented impacts in Mental Well-being. The Sapphire Awards program and dinner will be held on April 12, 2023.
