LEESBURG – Leesburg elementary, middle and high school students were treated with a full meal, snow cones, cookies, school supplies, fun and fellowship at Berry Park in Carver Heights Saturday, August 6 from 10 am to 2 pm.
Sponsored by Macedonia Church of the Living God on Griffith Road in Leesburg, Florida, students received a backpack full with pens, pencils, water bottles, notebooks, highlighters, loose leaf binders, paper, and more. Presentations providing information on how to have a positive school year were also delivered by educators at its annual Back to School Bash.
“I had a good time playing on the park’s equipment and the hot dogs were good,” Daniel, a third grader, said.
West Leesburg Community Development Corporation, the City of Leesburg and other organizations partnered with Macedonia CLG to provide school supplies for the students. Fraternities and sororities also supported the school event, distributing school supplies as well.
Overall, it was a great day.
