ORLANDO – What started right here in Central Florida 18 years ago with only 40 men, has evolved into a global movement that encourages, equips and engages attendees to be better friends, students, co-workers, brothers, fathers and husbands. The theme of this year’s Better Man Event was “Stepping Up” to challenge men to take that necessary next step to better themselves and those around them. The event, held on Saturday, September 24, performed to a live audience of approximately 2,500, and featured testimonials from powerful names in entertainment, sports and ministry.

The 2022 Better Man of the Year was awarded to Orlando native Archbishop Allen T.D. Wiggins of The Hope Church. For more than two decades, Bishop Wiggins has been transforming the Historic Greater Washington Shores community through the establishment of Hope Center West (HCW) – a 50-acre ecosystem representing a commitment of care to meeting and serving the needs of those who live, work, learn, play and worship there.

In accepting the award, Archbishop Wiggins emphasized that while we are all a work in progress, we men must strive to build wholesome families and lead our boys to become better men and better fathers.

The Better Man Event has over 300,000 viewers and is simulcasted in 50 states, 60 nations and six continents. For more information on the Better Man Event, visit www.BetterMan365.com. For more information on Archbishop Allen T. D. Wiggins, please visit Bishopatdw.com.
