ORLANDO – Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is pleased to announce that patients can walk-in for their mammograms during “Walk-in Wednesdays.” Patients will not need to make an appointment if they visit the Breast Imaging Center during set hours on Wednesday afternoons.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to receive a mammogram screening,” said Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital Interim Director of Imaging Services Scott Coyle. “These walk-in hours will allow people to access this important health service without needing to make an appointment.”
Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital opened the Breast Imaging Center in October. It offers patients 3D mammograms, breast ultrasounds, DEXA scans and image guided breast biopsies in five treatment rooms.
“We know that early detection can be crucial for men and women who receive a cancer diagnosis,” said Philip Koovakada, senior vice president, Orlando Health South Central region, and president, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital. “If a patient’s screening does come back positive, we have all of the resources available at the Breast Imaging Center and the Orlando Health Cancer Institute – Ocoee to guide them through treatment.”
Patients can walk-in at the Breast Imaging Center from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday at 10000 W. Colonial Dr. Ocoee, FL 34761 beginning June 7. Patients will need to register at the front office and fill-out the necessary paperwork before receiving the mammogram.
