BY JIMMIE WILLIAMS

ORLANDO – Mr. Clarence Williams went to college at New Mexico Military Institute. I asked “Was it always your dream to be a football player?” His response was “Yes, it’s always been my dream to play football. I fell in love with the sport at a very young age. I remember in school during recess we used to play 2 hand touch and I always would shake people and make it across the field and score all the touchdowns nobody could stop me! That’s where the love started there and ever since then I’ve been taking it seriously and training for it to get better.” My next question was “What was the hardest thing you had to overcome before becoming a football player?” Clarence answered “I wouldn’t say I had to overcome anything difficult before becoming a football player, but the difficulties came once I got into it not necessarily a skill hardship but learning how to actually play the different positions, technique and figuring out what I could flourish at the most.” I then asked “What advice do you have for kids who want to be a football player like yourself?” He responded “The best advice I have to the kids is take it from me somebody that been through a lot in this football career and that been in y’all shoes before as a child and a teenager put school and your grades first do not play around with your school work for one and don’t play around with your football training or whatever you do take that serious. Find you some friends that have the same mindset as you and want to be great and stick with them y’all gone push each other to be great! Stay away from the friends that just want to party and be lit all the time trust me it won’t end well for you that stuff is a major distraction, lock in and focus on what you need to get done! This sport can feed your entire family if you make it pros that should be your # 1 goal.” I was curious so I asked Clarence “Who are some of your favorite football players?” After thinking he said “Some of my favorite football players today are mostly Odell Beckham, Jr., Stefon Diggs, Jamarr Chase and Justin Jefferson.” My final question was “What is one thing that you would like to share with your fans?” He responded “I am a man of few words I would rather let my actions do my speaking. I have a pure heart, I mean well I want to see everybody flourish in this life and find true happiness within. You can do anything that you put your mind to don’t listen to others when they speak down look at that man in the mirror and get to work you can have the world if you stay focused and positive!” I went to the game with some of my most closet friends Mr. Donte Collins, Mr. Rickie Weeks, Mr. Sandon Baker and Mr. Kevin T. Collins. Go Preds!
