LAKE BUENA VISTA – Starting today, runners nationwide can sign up to do something they can’t do anywhere else except Walt Disney World Resort – run through four Disney theme parks. Now that’s magical!
Registration begins today at 10 a.m. EDT for the 2024 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (Jan. 3-7, 2024), which includes four races – the 5K, the 10K, the half marathon and the full marathon – and two challenges – the Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge and the Dopey Challenge.
Each race takes runners on an energetic journey through various Disney theme parks with popular Disney characters, legendary Disney entertainment and cheering fans along the way. Finishers will also receive one-of-a-kind medals. The commemorative medal designs will be revealed in the coming months.
Runners who complete the Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge (half marathon and full marathon) will earn three medals, and runners who finish the Dopey Challenge (5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon) will earn six medals. There are virtual options for all races. Registration for the virtual events opens at 10 a.m. EDT on April 14.
The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is the second race weekend in the 2023-2024 runDisney race season and is the signature event in the series, which is one of the largest and most popular in the nation.
