ORLANDO – The Democratic Black Caucus of Florida(DBCF) 40th annual conference will be informative and entertaining with two innovative activist speakers, including keynote guest speaker Bishop Dr. William J. Barber II, author, activist, and Senior Pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Goldsboro, NC, for the past 29 years, and special guest speaker Aramis Ayala, an award winning civil rights advocate and former state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida from 2017 to 2021.
“The DBCF and its 26 local chapters are looking forward to our upcoming 40th annual conference, on May 19 through 21st at the Rosen Centre in Olando, Florida”, said Trevor Mallory, President of DBCF, one of the sunshine state’s strongest Black political organizations. “We have interactive workshops, discussing and implementing viable solutions for the issues of our state, and two dynamic speakers who will speak “truth to power” at our Gala on Saturday evening. And there’s still time to register.”
The three-day conference includes a press conference with DBCF President Trevor Mallory and Nikki Fried, Chair of the Florida Democratic Party(FDP), followed with a President’s Reception, basically a time to decompress and chill-out at a Meet and Greet with Hors d’oeuvres and open bar supplied by DBCF on Friday evening. Saturday’s agenda has a series of workshops, election for executive officers, and its signature annual Gala, with the theme “Remember the Past; Fight for the Future”, featuring speakers Bishop Dr. William J. Barber and Aramis Ayala. Culminating the 40th conference on Sunday, May 21st is the Business Meeting with lunch from 9 am to 2 pm.
DBCF represents almost 2 million Black voters and has been in the forefront to increase Black Democratic leadership in the state’s Legislature and U.S. Congress for 40 years. The Black political organization has 26 county chapters.
All press is invited to attend the press conference and the President’s Reception, but they are required to check-in. The 40th Annual Conference is a ticketed event and registration is required.
