
KISSIMMEE – The City of Kissimmee held a special meeting in the Commission Chambers at Kissimmee City Hall on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, to officially mark the beginning of a new term for the city’s elected officials. The meeting included the formal acceptance of the November 5, 2024, election results for Commission Seats #1, #3, and #5.
During the ceremony, all newly elected officials took the oath of office: Noel Ortiz for Commission Seat #1, Carlos Alvarez III for Commission Seat #3, and Jackie Espinosa as Mayor-Commissioner for Seat #5.
The event also included a recognition of outgoing officials, Mayor Olga Gonzalez and Vice Mayor Olga Castaño, who were honored for their years of dedicated service. Both officials were acknowledged for their leadership and significant contributions to the city’s growth and prosperity.
In addition to the routine business of the City, the new Commission will also convene in January to revisit and prepare the strategic plan of the City for not only the next fiscal year, but also establishing the long-range goals of the City looking ahead five or more years.
