LEESBURG – The Carver Heights community’s children and their parents were excited, smiling, and joyful as the Kids of Distinction’s Child Care Center’s truck, towing a large trailer full of more than 700 toys, pulled up in front of their home on Saturday, December 21st, 2024.
“Every year, the Christian Worship Center Church of God in Christ (CWC) helps the community provide Christmas joy to the residents by distributing toys to our children,” said Superintendent John Christian, Senior Pastor of CWC. “God has blessed CWC to be a blessing to the community. The toys given will help parents. Now, parents can use that money to pay for a different item for their child or her family.”
Mothers holding their babies and kids scampered to the trailer to pick out toys, which included trucks, bicycles, electronics, educational games, dolls, skates, play dough, and more.
Ms. Nakia Myles, Kids of Distinction Child Care Center Director, said, “The looks of gratefulness from the parents, as well as the kids, always impress me. Giving back to our community will bring someone a little happiness this Christmas.”
Toys were distributed to Carver Heights, McColds. MC Name and McCormick Streets, The Circle and East Magnolia Street.
