City Celebrates Opening Of EcoTour Service At Kissimmee Lakefront Park

KISSIMMEE – The City of Kissimmee announces the launch of a new EcoTour Service at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park Marina. To mark the occasion, community members, city officials, and local business leaders attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The EcoTour Service, operated by Florida Everglades Eco-Toon Tours, will offer guided pontoon boat tours on Lake Tohopekaliga and Shingle Creek. These tours will provide a unique opportunity to explore the area’s diverse wildlife, history, and natural beauty.

The 44-foot pontoon boat is family-and pet-friendly, ADA-accessible, and designed to protect the environment. Experienced captains will guide passengers through the history of Kissimmee’s lakefront and provide insights into local parks and downtown businesses.

“We are excited about this partnership. This initiative enhances our tourism industry and demonstrates the city’s commitment to sustainability and education,” said Jackie Espinosa, Mayor of Kissimmee. “It’s a meaningful addition to our community, blending outdoor recreation, fun, and environmental awareness.”

The City recently issued a request for proposals for an eco-tour concession. Florida Everglades Eco-Toon Tours was the only company to submit a qualified bid and earned the highest score in the evaluation process.

“This is another great enhancement to what we have at Kissimmee Lakefront Park,” said Steve Lackey, City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Director. “This park is the gem of our system, and we’re excited to offer an EcoTour Service, which will attract even more visitors to the area. Everyone is invited to come experience it.”

The EcoTour Service is now officially open and ready to welcome visitors to explore the beauty of Kissimmee’s natural landscape. Tours depart from Kissimmee Lakefront Park Marina, located at 69 Lakeview Drive. For more information about the EcoTour service, including booking details, visit kissimmee.gov/ecotours
