ORLANDO — In partnership with AdventHealth, the City District Main Street is launching Orlando’s first adult Downtown Orlando Field Day on Thursday, November 2, 2023. This classic event will feature old school competitions with an intentional local flair.
The City District Main Street, alongside title sponsor AdventHealth, Red Lobster, City Beverage, Orlando Utilities Commission and community partners including, the Downtown Development Board/Community Redevelopment Agency, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Orlando Magic, Orange County Public Schools, Orlando Weekly, StepUp Productions and the Orlando Hospitality Alliance will come together to host the inaugural event at the Seneff Arts Plaza at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
“As our Downtown serves as a true urban neighborhood, it’s important to create unique and diverse experiences within our thriving city center,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “The inaugural Downtown Orlando Field Day is a great example of these offerings and provides an opportunity to showcase city pride, meet new friends and have a one-of-a-kind experience that can only be found in Orlando’s urban core.”
The activities include a Red Lobster Relay, City Beautiful Match Up, Office Olympics, O’Town Obstacle Course, and Tug-of-War that will serve as the finale to determine the first place winner. The event begins at 3 p.m. and friends, corporate teams and businesses are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as only 50 spots are available.
“Think Corporate 5k but for Field Day! We are working to engage local businesses and teams to come together in the heart of the city for a nostalgic evening of throwback competitions, food, and fun,” said Nikki Aviles, City District Main Street Executive Director.
“We believe this event will drive home a sense of downtown Orlando pride and ultimately enhance connection among our participants and the community.”
This event is focused on team building, elevating corporate culture, and bringing people together in a community-forward setting– with bragging rights on the line.
