APOPKA – The Apopka Florida International jazz Festival to me, is like the super bowl of concerts. The Apopka Amphitheater is breathtaking. The parking was amazing. Accessible transportation was provided to/from the event area making it very handicap friendly event. The festival was very well secured and the various food smells from the vendors would drive you crazy. It smells so good. Good food was everywhere. The VIP tent was everything with great food and drinks being served with a smile. I didn’t want the night to end, because it was a moment in history where some of the world’s most amazing jazz entertainers came together for the super bowl of concert at the “Apopka International Jazz Festival.” This was the Jazz Festival of festivals with all the lights, the cameras and the sound. With a lineup like this one, you couldn’t go wrong. Ok here we go live on center stage was Ms. Naomi Joy, Special Formula Band, Najee introducing Kim Waters & Kayla Waters, Ken Ford and Mr. Peabo Bryson. Each artist had a special moment on while stage. Ken Ford had a number one fan. I don’t think anyone one had more fun than her. She was just one on one with Ken Ford. He made her his number one fan for the evening. Oh and the moment Mr. Peabo Bryson played his guitar was the highlight of the Jazz super bowl moment. Now seeing Ken Ford playing the violin for the second time. The man is just awesome at what he does. It is incredible. The father and daughter Mr. Kim Waters & Kayla Waters the only thing I can tell you is that the next time you hear their names you don’t want to miss the opportunity to see them live on stage somewhere, trust me. Before you can do it anywhere you got to do it at home. Now about APK home town jazz artist Ms. Naomi Joy. You see God had a sense of humor. He gave Naomi her last name “Joy” because He knew she would one day bring joy to our ears. Here comes one of the hottest bands in the south “The Special Formula Band” under the leadership of Mr. Reginald Dantzler. Special Formula Band is known for their soulful sounds. They are a band that can back up any artist as well as do the whole show on their own. I’ll see you next year at the 4th Annual Apopka International Jazz Festival what I call the super bowl of Jazz concerts. Mark your calendars!
