ALTAMONTE SPRINGS – This event started with our member Fay Cohen of New Bethel AMEC, Altamonte Springs, FL diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the year 2009.  In October 2011 serving under Pastor Odale Watson, Danielle Richardson and Shayla Cohen along with the Women’s Missionary and the church family, had a fundraiser vision which was held in the fellowship hall of New Bethel AMEC.  Over the years the vision grew and has been successful at different venues.

New Bethel AMEC has sponsored this event year after year.  This year is our 11th Annual Breast Cancer Event. Throughout the years our Breast Cancer Event has been informative.  Our Events include a dinner, fashion show and various keynote speakers. To name a few, we have been honored with: Ms. Margaret Gibson, Founder of “Joma Foundation Inc.”.  I am happy to announce that Ms. Gibson returns every year to support.

October 2016 Arnold Porter Pastor of New Bethel AMEC honored Ms. Fay Cohen a Breast Cancer Survivor with a proclamation to have the Event in Ms. Cohen’s name. Any future events will be known as Faithful Fay Breast Cancer Event.

Ms. Cohen has been in remission for the past 11 years. Approximately 2 years into recovery she continued to work on the journey to fight Breast Cancer, speaking out on the importance of mammograms, she has been instrumental in gathering medical professionals to volunteer and inform all present.  Ms. Cohen has countless times reached out and comforted others who have Breast Cancer.

In the past few years Ms. has had a Faithful Fay Committee which hosts a Parade followed by Fellowshipping at New Bethel AMEC, 311 Marker Street Altamonte Springs, FL.  32701. This event has been successful in community commitment from all around the surrounding areas.

Fay has been instrumental in participating in other events and has had numerous speaking engagements over the years.  This woman has throughout all her own medical repercussions from having breast cancer has marched on with a smile on her face, and her head held high with Grace and Grateful Praises to the Lord.  This woman has been a soldier for the Lord.  Working with the Women’ Missionary in New Bethel, to decorate the church every event.  Ms. Cohen ain’t no stopping her now.  Her march goes on.

I put my hands together for this woman.  Applauding her with God’s Grace and Mercy.  Her anointing is felt with every hug, every touch, every smile, every nudge.  This prayer warrior will call or just reach out when you least expect it to the hearts of so many.  If there is something that the Church needs done this woman will without complaint be right there.   There are so many countless attributes I can give this woman.  I’ll just put a pause on it for right now, Ms. Cohen, we appreciate you.  Thank you with love.
