Free Community Health Workers Training

ORLANDO – The Central Florida Black Nurses Association of Orlando, Inc. (CFBNA) is an approved provider for Community Health Worker Training and continuing education by the Florida Certification Board (flcertificationboard.org).

We would like to introduce you to starting a new career in healthcare as a Certified Community Health Worker. Our next upcoming FREE Community Health Worker training starts Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Heart of Mercy Ministries, 1531 Mercy Dr., Orlando, Florida 32808. This 30-hour course consists of the core competencies required by the state. This training will prepare participants for eligibility to take the Community Health Worker Certification exam. The exam requires 500 hours of volunteer community or office work, and a level II background check to take the state exam.

Many employers in the Central Florida area are now hiring Community Health Workers under various names like Community Health Advocate, Non-licensed Public Health Worker, Community Advisor, Community Educator, Community Health Promoter, Community Care Coordinator, Health Navigator, and more.
