APOPKA – It’s was a beautiful day for the Heart & Soul Music Festival. People came from near and far to see the hottest show, whether on land or sea where dreams come true. My wife, Diann Williams said to me this music festival was up close and personal. I was just with Kut Klose. Lol! Kut Klose is an American R&B trio that formed in Atlanta, Georgia. The three female singers that made up the group were Athena Cage, Lavonn Battle and Tabitha Duncan. The girls were discovered by Keith Sweat who produced their debut album. They are best known for their hit single “I Like” from the album Surrender. Someone said finally an annual Central Florida Music festival event location with The Isley Brothers, Howard Hewett, Con Funk Shun, Leela James & Kut Klose in Apopka. It was on Saturday October 8th, 2022. Oh y’all you missed it. Lol! It was incredible. All reserved seating was sold out. Special thanks goes out to Promoter Paul Allen Billings and his team, Mayor Bryan Nelson, City of Apopka, Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. For Con Funk Shun’s performance, I only have one thing to say and that is they came with their “A” game. I finally got to meet the man, Mr. Michael Cooper of the R&B group Con Funk Shun. There were moments when I just couldn’t stand still because the funk music had me. Lol! The crowd went crazy when Con Funk Shun hit the stage. It was like I’ve never seen before. I also had the pleasure of meeting the drummer from the R&B group “The Isley Brothers” my new BFF “Best Friend Forever” Mr. Daniel, the man that holds down the beat. Two of the hottest DJs in the south DJ Willie C of 98.5 The Wire the New Voice of Pine Hills and DJ Melo Yelo, kept the concert going through the evening. One of Orlando’s most loved air personality, Ms. Monica May of Star 94.5 Cox Media had the pleasure of introducing the headliner for the Heart and Soul Festival “The Isley Brothers”, who were earlier awarded a proclamation and gifted a key to the City of Apopka. Look who showed up? Our good friend and celebrity journalist Ms. Lexis Lewis and Capt. Chris of Captain and Company OLDSKOOL101.COM. My wife and I would like to thank Mr. Paul Allen Billings and his family at 98.5 The Wire for always making sure the Black press is able to attend these great events each year.
