Holy Night: Fun, Safe, Christian Alternative To Halloween

BY LOUIS C. WARD

LEESBURG – More than 300 kids and their parents celebrated Holy Night, “a fun-time and safe event and a Christian alternative to Halloween’s ghost and goblins Monday evening October 31, 2022 from 6:30 to 9 pm at Christian Worship Center (CWC) at 929 C.R. 468 in Leesburg, Florida.

Sponsored by Christian Worship Center (CWC), “the annual Holy Night activity provided an opportunity for our youth to have a secure and protected environment to go on Halloween night”, said John Christian, Senior Pastor. “Parents are with their children while they interacted with their friends and siblings, having fun, eating good food, and just enjoying the Christian evening safely.”

Babies, pre-teens and teenagers wore costumes representing characters like Spiderman, angels, skeletons and more. Kids enjoyed franks, hamburgers, and cotton candy. Fellowship was high with parents as well as youth. Some just ran around chasing each other. Some had their faces painted. Some just conversed with each other, while listening to Christian music.

The big bounce house kept a lot of the youth occupied as well as the gaming trailer with the newest consoles like Ps5 and video games.

“They provided a safe place for us to have fun on Halloween with food and a bounce house,” said Carver Middle School student Zahir.

Daniel, a third grader, said, “It was a great Holy Night and I had fun jumping in the bounce house and playing with an 8th grader.  The hotdogs were great! I love my grandfather and grandmother so much for taking me there.”

“I thank the Leesburg Police Department and CWC volunteer members who helped make the Christian event successful. I appreciate everything everyone did to make a great evening for our community’s youth”, concluded Pastor Christian.
