EUSTIS – James Lowe, the executive director of Lake Community Action Agency (LCAA) in Eustis, Florida, was recognized by the Florida Association of Community Action (FACA) for his more than 5 decades of dedicated service to the Lake County community.
A well-known and loved community activist, Mr. Lowe received the Legacy Award at FACA’s annual conference held Tuesday through Friday, May 14 to 17, 2024 at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort at Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Lowe’s leadership has helped many individuals residing in Lake County and surrounding communities become self-sufficient through education, career advancement, housing, childcare and other areas.
“I am very pleased with the service the Lake Community Action Agency and I have provided to our community for more than 50 years,” a content Mr. Lowe said upon receiving the Legacy Award amidst a standing ovation from community action agencies throughout the state of Florida at FACA’s Thursday night’s program.
Tim Bridges, Director of Operations at LCAA, said, “In the time I’ve known Mr. Lowe, he has always been a man of great integrity. He has a heart for the people and community he lives in and serves and he has always been fair and consistent.”
