Kissimmee Fire Department Earns International Accreditation

KISSIMMEE – Kissimmee Fire Department has earned an internationally recognized accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).  This achievement involved rigorous peer reviews of department policies, practices, safety standards, and an on-site visit.  This culminated with a hearing held by the CFAI Board for final review and acceptance on February 27, 2024.

CFAI is dedicated to helping fire and emergency service agencies worldwide achieve organizational and professional excellence. By voluntarily seeking accreditation, Kissimmee Fire Department has ensured that it stays up-to-date on industry standards, follows best practices, ensures continuous improvement, and keeps citizens and fire personnel safe.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work of our team to achieve full accreditation by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International,” says Kissimmee Fire Department Chief Jim Walls. “Being accredited allows us to remain at the forefront of the fire service and provide the best possible service to our citizens.”
