WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lake County Chapter of The Charmettes, Inc. honored Ms. Linda Cunningham for her 35 years of membership and dedicated service at its 68th Charmettes, Inc. National Convention held Saturday, June 22nd, in Washington, D.C.
“I was so grateful to receive my 30 year attendance pin at our 68th National Convention”, said an elated Ms. Cunningham, who only missed five conventions during her membership in the women’s social organization.
The Charmettes, Inc. presented Howard University a check for $1 million to continue its work in cancer research.
The Lake County Chapter of the Charmettes was started by Ms. Margaret Ward and installed in 1987. “Members are committed and dedicated to our organization, our members and to our communities. We welcome, value and support the diversity of skills, expertise, tools and networks of the strong African American women who comprise our membership.”
“We recognize the importance and benefits of supporting the eradication of cancer and partnering with Historically Black Colleges, Universities, and others who share our values and support our mission.”
