LONGWOOD – Earlier this month, local seniors lined up at Northland Church in Longwood to receive space heaters, blankets, gloves, personal items and other cold weather essentials. More than 100 kits were distributed and loaded into seniors’ cars by volunteers – including Tony Boni, Mayor of the City of Longwood and an active member of Mercy Road. Representatives from Walmart, Florida Blue and Orlando Health were also in attendance to distribute informational materials. The nonprofits plan to organize similar distribution events in the near future.
