SPECIAL TO THE TIMES
ORLANDO – Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a trusted non-profit nursing and rehabilitation center on the westside of downtown Orlando, is calling on local churches to dedicate Sunday, October 27, 2024, as a day of giving. Churches are invited to unite their congregations in support of Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s mission to provide quality care to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Founded in the late 1950s as a hospital that served the African American community, and where African American women birth their children during segregation, Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has evolved into a state-of-the-art health care center. Today, it serves elderly residents, veterans, and those in need of rehabilitation. Despite its top-quality services, the facility is facing significant financial challenges due to the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and delays in state and federal reimbursements.
“We are asking churches to come together in support of our work,” said Eloise Abrahams, Executive Director of Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. “By dedicating October 27th as a day of giving, churches can make a tangible impact on the lives of those in need in our community.”
Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking to raise $1 million to ensure continued care for those who depend on their services. Contributions from churches will help sustain the center’s essential operations, including care for the elderly and medically vulnerable.
How Churches Can Help:
On October 27th, churches are encouraged to collect a special offering for Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Donations will directly fund the operations and care for those with limited financial means, helping Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center remain a vital healthcare provider and resource for the community.
“This is an opportunity for churches to demonstrate their faith in action,” said Eloise Abrahams. “Your generosity can help sustain our mission of care and compassion.”
In recognition of their contributions, participating churches will be acknowledged on Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s website and social media. Churches will also receive a certificate of appreciation and be highlighted in the organization’s newsletter and in a press release that will be circulated through the media throughout the community.
For more information on how to participate, churches can contact Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 305 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida, 32805. The telephone number is 407-295-5371 ext. 3308. The email to contact is [email protected] or visit Https://GuardianCareNursing.Com
