Nutrition Education Classes

ORANGE COUNTY – Food is more than a meal. Nutrition fuels children in school, individuals at work and seniors to thrive. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida not only works with a network of more than 870 community feeding partners to provide access to healthy options, but its Nutrition Education Program inspires and engages neighbors across its seven-county service area to incorporate more nutritious foods into their diet, adopt an active lifestyle, prevent chronic disease, manage a healthy weight and improve their quality of life.

Shavanna

Shavanna enjoys being Second Harvest’s Nutrition Educator in Orange County because of the generational reach of each lesson. There’s no age limit to eating healthy and creating positive habits.

Madeline

Madalene is Second Harvest’s Nutrition Educator in Orange and Osceola counties. Her favorite class to teach – in English and Spanish – is called “MyPlate,” because participants can see how to control portion sizes and which foods to incorporate for a healthier diet.
