ORANGE COUNTY – In 2024, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office conducted six elections, serving more than 836,000 voters. In addition to these flawless elections, the office took major steps in advancing cybersecurity by partnering with state, local, and federal partners.
Working with Homeland Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the FBI, and the DOJ, the office has been able to do a full assessment of its practices and procedures, ensuring every step that can be taken to protect the vote and voters is being taken in an ever-changing cyber landscape.
Over the summer, the office held a meeting with federal officials and county leaders to discuss findings from a visit by DHS to the office and what can be done to safeguard elections for Orange County.
“Delivering on the promise of safe and secure elections is paramount in this ever-changing landscape,” said Orange County Supervisor of Elections Glen Gilzean. “Our amazing staff has been at the forefront of elections security, working tirelessly to ensure the systems we rely on are ready for each election.”
