ORANGE COUNTY – Today the Orange County Canvassing Board met to continue certifying the election.
Part of the certification process is to review the write-in votes for declared candidates.
In the Orange County Commission District 1 race there are accepted write-in votes which may push this race to a November runoff rather than a recount in the event that neither of the top two candidates will have a majority of the total votes.
Final numbers and a decision on a recount will not be made until after 5 PM, the deadline for voters to cure their ballots and for the final canvassing of provisional ballots.
