ORLANDO – The Orlando City Soccer stadium (Exploria Stadium) was on fire game night. The fans went crazy over the Lion’s win. It was exciting to watch the reactions of everyone while they embraced and celebrated the moment of bringing home the trophy. I arrived a little early for the Orlando City Soccer celebration at City Hall. I was able to get pictures of the Lion players getting off the bus carrying the trophy. I have one thing to say, these guys are serious about the game we call soccer. In front of Orlando’s City Hall the only colors I saw were purple and white and gold and it was a beautiful thing to see. All of the fans were singing together and just uplifting the Orlando City Soccer team. On this day history was made for the first time as the Orlando City Soccer Lion’s have a championship trophy. To the fans that is the only thing that matters right now. Lol! Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer talked about the great win for the City of Orlando and the Orlando City Soccer team. Orlando City SC won the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, U.S. Soccer’s National Championship, by defeating Sacramento Republic SC 3-0. A second half Facundo Torres goal fired the club to victory and its first trophy as a Division I (MLS) club. It’s not over Orlando City Soccer has just begun and they will continue their efforts to bring more championship trophies home to the City Beautiful home of Orlando City Soccer. We as new soccer fans can now say we are champions and we will see you at the next game. Don’t Meet Me There, Beat Me There! A big win for central Florida. Five stars ***** goes to Orlando City Soccer Lions.
