ORLANDO — Orlando Fire Chief Charlie Salazar proudly announced the appointments of new Deputy Chiefs Jason Revoldt and Shannon Keesey to pivotal roles within the Orlando Fire Department.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer appoints the role of Orlando Fire Deputy Chief who are responsible for overseeing crucial bureaus within the department. These roles involve professional, administrative and managerial duties, including the strategic execution of the Fire Chief’s vision and the city’s broader public safety goals. The Fire Chief’s recommendations underpin these appointments.
Deputy Chief Jason Revoldt
Deputy Chief Jason Revoldt, a distinguished 23-year veteran of the Orlando Fire Department, has been promoted to command the Life Safety Bureau—a role he has already been fulfilling in an acting capacity for nearly a year. His extensive experience spans all field operational units, including Engine, Rescue, and Tower trucks, as well as serving as an EMS Supervisor. Chief Revoldt also leads the department’s Arson and Bomb Squad, alongside his K-9 partner, Nessie.
Chief Revoldt holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration and Investigations from Columbia Southern University. He is a certified State of Florida Paramedic, Law Enforcement Officer, FBI Bomb Technician and Arson K-9 Handler.
Deputy Chief Shannon Keesey
Deputy Chief Shannon Keesey, formerly an Assistant Chief at Orange County Fire Rescue, steps into her new role commanding the Fire Administration Bureau. Her impressive track record includes managing seven battalions, 45 fire stations and overseeing more than 400 personnel.
Chief Keesey earned an associate’s degree in General Studies, a bachelor’s degree in Fire and Emergency Services and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. She is a certified State of Florida Paramedic and Fire Officer IV and will achieve Executive Fire Officer certification in 2026.
Both appointments go into effect on September 16, 2024.
