ORLANDO – As part of NBA Cares Season of Giving, the Orlando Magic are celebrating Christmas in a BIG way surprising one local family, Cyndi and her three children (two sons and one daughter; her fourth child, Jordan, passed away in 2021 from bone cancer), during the Magic vs. Heat matchup tonight, Dec. 20. The Magic were joined by Kia, AdventHealth, Disney, Kroger, Teleties, and PDQ to shower the family with gifts and other items to assist them through difficult times. This is the 15h consecutive season the Magic have hosted one family around the holidays for “The Big Give.”
At halftime the revelation occurred, they were given gifts from the Magic that included two 50” TVs, air fryer, driveway basketball hoop, kitchen aid mixer, and other household accessories. The Magic’s partners also surprised the family with a variety of gifts:
- Kia donated a Kia Telluride SX
- AdventHealth – $5000 for home furnishings
- Disney Tickets
- Kroger Delivery – $500 Gift Card
- PDQ – gift card
- TELETIES – gift package
- Total by Verizon – Samsung Galaxy A13 with Unlimited+ plan (details below)
Total by Verizon will provide the family one Samsung Galaxy A13 phone with the Unlimited+ plan free for one year. The premium plan includes unlimited talk, text and data, a 20 GB hotspot and Ulate Wideband access, international talk and text to five countries of their choice, Disney+ premium included, all on Total by Verizon’s 5G network.
The entire day was an experience to remember – the family riding in a limo to and from the game and cheering on the Magic from courtside seats after enjoying dinner in the Fields Ultimate Lounge.
Recently, Cyndi and her children were selected by the Magic as their 2023 Habitat for Humanity Orlando & Osceola homeowner, sponsored by the Magic. As the team’s Habitat for Humanity family recipient, the Magic also surprised them with the courtside tickets to the Magic/Heat game at that time and Cyndi was told they would be featured as the “family of the night” to keep the evening a surprise.
