Pastor Leroy Rose, II and Lady Nordia Rose

BY DR. BARBARA J. MCLEAN-SMITH

ORLANDO – Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, in 2006, Pastor Rose and Family embarked on a journey to Orlando to serve as Youth Pastor and that he did until 2012. Often likened to Joshua in those early days, Reverend Rose walked by faith, serving the youth as he lovingly cared for and maintained his young wife and four children. He faithfully and dutifully carried out his, then, assignment, and has continued to walk in his calling. Upon retiring, and in March 2013, Senior Pastor, The Reverend Dr. Randolph Bracy, Jr., and Co-Founder, Dr. LaVon W. Bracy presented to New Covenant the new senior pastor, Reverend Leroy Rose, III.  Pastor Rose accepted the honor and privilege and is now celebrating 10 years as the Senior Pastor at New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando (NCBC).

His dedication to the “Five Fold Ministry” has created and developed a very diverse congregation with a plethora of ministers and ministries to lead, preach and teach God’s Word. The leaders also known as the

“WIFE: W = Worship, I= Instruction, F=Fellowship, E=Evangelism team” assists Pastor Rose in assuring that all members and guests are cared for; spiritually fed; and deemed more than congregants. These past ten years have afforded Pastor and Lady Rose an opportunity to expand a “Missions” ministry where NCBC can serve and minister to people around the globe as well as at home, here in Orlando.

Prayer is an essential part of Pastor Rose’s life as he is often pulled in many directions. Within these ten years, he now has five children, four of whom are young adults; he prays for, leads and guides them to know The Lord for themselves. Answered prayer is evident in his offspring and his wife, all show their faithfulness and love of God. Pastor Rose has become a well-rounded and well-grounded man of God through prayer, faith, commitment and focus on God’s greatness.

This past decade has had its ups and downs, trials and triumphs. With the innumerable hurricanes, the COVID Pandemic along with job losses, sicknesses, and death, Pastor Rose has been a “Servant Leader” who tended “his flock” with his love and his presence. He initiated the “Daily Dose of Devotion”; a nighty telephone devotional; every night for three years without missing one. This nightly devotional has reached people across the United States bringing salvation, hope, joy, comradery and love to those who called in to hear the Word of the Lord.

Pastor Leroy Rose, III and First Lady Nordia Rose along with their family will be honored and celebrated for 10 Years of Faithful Service on Friday, March 10, 2023 at The Rosen Centre, Orlando, FL.

He is well deserving as “The Man, who has The Mission and The Message”.

“And He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth His fruit in His season; His leaf also shall not wither; And what so ever He doeth shall prosper.  – Psalm 1:1-3
