Unique Dining Experience to Help Neighbors One Plate at a Time

Chef Jill Holland

ORLANDO – Starting Sept. 18, Central Florida will have a new way to grab lunch and pay it forward for a neighbor.

Plate Above Catering is launching a new once-a-month pop-up café, allowing customers to pre-order lunch for pickup. The menu will change each month, feature a choice of entrée with two sides for $9.95 and ordering will close five days before the designated pick-up day.

A portion of each lunch sale will support the Culinary Training Program at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The 16-week course is free for qualified students looking to start or grow a career within the food service sector.

“Using food to make a difference in people’s lives is one of the things that fuels my passion as a chef,” said Chef Jill Holland, General Manager at Plate Above. “By supporting this pop-up café, Central Florida can make a difference for their neighbors, one plate at a time.”

The first pop-up café on Sept. 18 will feature the choice of an Italian Meatball, Chicken Piccata or Eggplant Rollatini, with Penne Marinara and Caesar Salad. Orders must be made by Sept. 13th for pick-up at 411 Mercy Drive in Orlando on Sept. 18.

Plate Above Catering teams will offer Chicken Marsala, Bourbon and Honey-Glazed Pork Chop or a Stuffed Portabella Mushroom Cap on Oct. 15 and Roasted Turkey, Pork Loin with Apples and Onion, or a Zucchini Boat on Nov. 19.
