ORLANDO – On Monday, Jan. 16, this year’s cohort of Public Allies joined their program leaders – Prita Chhabra, Travis Hall, Law Rolle and Krizia Capeles Evans – to participate in the City of Orlando’s “Green Up and Keep Orlando Beautiful” program in honor of its MLK Day of Service project. The group invested sweat-equity into landscaping part of the Lake Mann neighborhood.

“It’s always inspiring to see people giving back to their community,” said Prita Chhabra, site director. “Public Allies Central Florida is designed to plant hope and inspire growth in its participants, and that’s exactly what they put into practice – and ultimately honor the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLK Day of Service project has quickly become a favorite annual tradition.”

Public Allies Central Florida is always looking to add new organizations to host the next generation of leaders. Recruitment for Allies to participate in the 2023-2024 cohort will begin soon.
