ORLANDO – After learning about recent data that shows nearly 18% of children in Lake County are at risk of experiencing hunger on any given day, BJ’s Wholesale Club recently teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to continue feeding hope.
On Friday, August 9, leaders from BJ’s presented Second Harvest with a $150,000 grant. The funding directly supports the childhood summer hunger prevention programs at Lake Cares and The Neighborhood Center of South Lake. Both partners estimated serving more than 1,200 children during the 10-week summer break.
