SANFORD – Seminole State College of Florida will award over 2,000 degrees and certificates during its Spring 2023 Commencement on May 2. The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in Addition Financial Arena at University of Central Florida. More than 1,800 students are set to earn credentials this spring.
Dr. Laura Ross, vice president of Academic Affairs at Seminole State, will deliver the keynote address. Ross will retire this summer after more than 30 years at Seminole State. She started in 1990 during the tenure of the College’s founding president Dr. Earl Weldon. She has now served under three presidents and has seen Seminole State go from a community college to a state college offering 11 bachelor’s degrees.
“In the roles she has held at the College, from faculty member to VP, she has helped a countless number of students, faculty and staff, and we are thrilled to have her as our speaker,” wrote Seminole State’s Executive Team in a message to faculty and staff.
Tickets are required for admission to commencement. For those unable to attend, a live video feed of the ceremony will be available. To learn more, visit seminolestate.edu/graduation.
