WILDWOOD, FL. – The Sophisticated Gents of Florida (SGOF) held a Reflections and Recognition ceremony for member Charles Wright at its October general membership meeting Wednesday, October 4th at the Golden Coral restaurant on CR 466 in Wildwood, Florida.
Charles Wright passed on to glory Saturday, September 30th, 2023.
Ms. Louise, Charles Wright’s better-half for more than 50 years, was presented with a proclamation and a memorial photograph of Charles, who was a very active member and a behind the scene guy, who helped students receive college scholarships to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), and dabbled in community politics, recently being strategic in helping elect Allison Berry to the Leesburg City Commission.
During the reflection period, many members of the SGOF, a retired professional men’s organization, spoke highly of the esteemed and long-standing Gents’ member, Charles Wright.
“Ms. Louise was quite emotional, and thanked the Gents for their longstanding relationship with Charles”, said Vernon Haley, SGOF President.
