OCOEE – The Ocoee City Commission recognizes the stress that its residents and businesses are under as they make storm repairs to their homes and buildings. On Tuesday, October 15, the City Commission voted to waive building permit fees for hurricane storm damage repairs for the next 90 days through January 13, 2025. When applying for a permit, residents must indicate the repair is related to storm damage.
Repairs that require a permit include the following:
- Roof Repairs exceeding 100 sq. ft.
- Weather Related Electrical Repairs
- Air conditioning Equipment
- Meter Base Repair
- Replacement of Exterior Siding
- Window Replacement
- Door Replacement
- Drywall Replacement
- Structural Repairs
- Tree Removal
Repairs that do not need a permit:
- Roof Repairs not exceeding 100 sq. ft.
- Debris Removal
- Tree Trimming
- Placing a Tarp on a Roof
- Rain Gutter replacement
- Replacing Screening on Aluminum Structures
- Repairs to exterior structures
- Repairs to exterior soffit
