Tennessee Representatives Justin J. Pearson, Justin Jones To Speak At Democratic Black Caucus Of Florida’s 41st Annual Conference

ORLANDO – State Representatives Justin J. Pearson and Justin Jones, both members of the Tennessee Three, will be the keynote speaker and special guest respectively at the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida’s (DBCF) 41st Conference June 7 through 9, 2024 at the Rosen Centre Hotel at 9840 International Drive, Orlando.

Tennessee State Representatives Justin J. Pearson, Justin Jones, and Gloria Johnson aka as the Tennessee Three participated in a protest for gun control in front of the State House after a fatal shooting at a Nashville private school where three children and three adults were killed.

Pearson and Jones were expelled for their participation. Johnson, who is white, avoided expulsion. Both Pearson and Jones reclaimed their legislative seats after a special election.

“Democracy Will Not Die On Our Watch” is the theme of DBCF’s 41st Conference, said DBCF President Trevor Mallory, promising a conference with informative and exciting workshops, and a Saturday evening Gala with exuberant speakers.

All members of the press are encouraged to attend and cover the State of the Caucus Friday evening at 6 pm, which will open with State Representative Justin J. Pearson, Orlando’s Democratic Executive Committee Chair, and a member from the mayor’s office. DBCF President Trevor Mallory will follow with a discussion about strategies for an effective DBCF, and how the organization will mobilize and educate Florida’s Black voters to win in November.

The Presidential Reception will conclude Friday’s social evening with food, drink and high-spirited conversation.

Saturday evening’s Gala is a ticketed event with Keynote speaker Justin J. Pearson, and special guest Justin Jones. Tickets for members of the press who want to enjoy the amenities of the Gala will be discounted to $100.
