APOPKA – The Heart and Soul Music Festival was everything but boring. Everything that could go right did go right. It was an evening I’ll never forget. The first amazing thing to happen was a couple got engaged. That was Mr. Carl James and Ms. Z! Congratulations to them. To top all of that off, Kenny Latimore serenaded the couple. That was one of the most awesome moments of the festival. The Legendary Mrs. Carolyn Patterson was honored at the The Heart & Soul Music Festival. Also back stage was football star Edgerrin James of the Indianapolis Colts, Ms. Dinahlynn Biggs (President-CEO of four radio stations and “The Dinahlynn Biggs Show).” There was so many celebrities back stage that I couldn’t keep up including Ms. Lisa R. Straighter aka Southern Soul artist Queen Thickums. The lineup for the Heart and Soul festival was like no other. People were standing on their feet hollering, laughing, screaming and shouting. Each group brought something new and exciting to the stage, starting with Jarred Armstrong, Jaquel, Raheem Devanughn, Kenny Lattimore, Lakeside, Atlantic Starr and Stephanie Mills. Everything was right about this lineup of entertainers. The show was just awesome. I asked one of the attendees what they thought about the show. They replied, “Lakeside took us on a Voyage FOR SURE!!!! They had everyone on their feet because they came to FUNK!! The Heart & Soul Music Festival 2023 is everything.” Some of the guests I talked with were trying to compare this year’s festival to last year’s festival. Most individuals felt this year’s festival was the best. Stephanie Mills took “The Heart and Soul Festival” to a new level. I gotta give five stars***** to Mr. Paul Allen Billings @ 98.5 The Wire. Each year PA keeps finding ways to make the Heart and Soul Music Festival a show you wouldn’t want to miss. I’ll see you next year at the Heart and Soul Music Festival 2024. DJ Lorinda, DJ Shay Boy, DJ Melo Yelo and DJ Willie C. were still on the Wheels of steelz. Congratulations to Mr. Othellus Swift, who received The Heart and Soul Music Festival community servant award.
