LEESBURG – The West Leesburg Community Development Corporation (WLCDC) showed its gratitude for members who have an extensive record of service and community involvement at its Appreciation Ceremony held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the Leesburg Resource Center on County Road 468 in Leesburg, Florida.
Often community activists are not recognized for the hours they spend being a part of a community organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for its residents. Fred Griffin knows that and decided to honor some WLCDC members who have been around for quite some time, working to provide resources for the Carver Heights community.
“Appreciation was focused on the longevity of some of our members. I felt compelled to let them know that we appreciate and honor them for their hard work and their service. It hasn’t gone unnoticed”, said President Griffin.
Awarded with plaques for extensive community service were Cassandra Cunningham, Helen Furlow, Pastor Tony Hardy, Max Parker and Louis C Ward.
