When You Doing What You Love It’s Easy

Celebrating You Celebrating History - Black History Month

BY JIMMIE WILLIAMS

ORLANDO – Just as you thought that there was nothing else to celebrate, it happened. Black History Month happened, wow! This is the month that we celebrate each other no matter where you’re from. As a human race we celebrate you. We celebrate history. Yes this is Black History Month, but we know that without us as a human race none of us would have any history. We are one group of people and that is the human race. Some of y’all will get that on the way home. We celebrated Black History Month with open arms for everyone that attended the event. Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Celebrating You Celebrating History is an annual event in the beautiful city of Orlando, as you may or may not know is the vacation captain of the world. At this year’s event the entertainment was just amazing with performances by Mr. Alvin Bell, Ms. Barbara Walker and myself, Mr. Jimmie Drop D. Williams. A big thank you goes to The Central Florida Black Nurses Association, Palmer Feed Store, Al’s Food Store, The Breakfast Corner, The Orlando Times newspaper, Orlando Fire Department and Ms. Adonica Gray. I’m going to leave you with this one quote, from Jimmie Williams. “Humans are one race.” You know that I love you as human beings and you can’t do anything about it. This community event was about uplifting the community, showing community unity and celebrating our Black leaders. There was free food, blood pressure checks and some good music thanks to DJ Uncle Al. Until the next time. We’re celebrating you celebrating history!
