ORLANDO – Saturday, August 24 was the start of the 2nd Annual YOUTH BIZ WORKSHOPS/MARKETPLACE POP UPS 2024. This free, once-a-month initiative is facilitated from August through December by partners Young Business Entrepreneurs, Inc. (Y.B.E.) and So You Want Your Name In Lights (SYWYNIL) Youth Mentoring Programs. Our 2-fold objective is to motivate future business leaders to propel their vision into reality; and help them to understand that their entrepreneurial commitment assists in building stronger economic impact for their communities.
Y.B.E. and SYWYNIL provide dual-platform opportunities. First, participants learn small business development, financial literacy (budgeting, saving, investing), marketing, branding, and how to design a business plan. Secondly, participants showcase their innovative ideas during Saturday Marketplace Pop Ups scheduled from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. This year’s three pop ups are planned for October 19 and November 16 at Evelyn’s Creations Educational Art Expo (West Oaks Mall) in Ocoee; and December 14 at the James R. Smith Center in Orlando. Please mark your calendars and come out to support these young people. This project is funded, in part, by Orange County Credible Messengers, United Arts of Central Florida, Universal Studios Foundation, Orange County Sheriff Office, and Axiom Bank.
