CENTRAL FLORIDA – The Brothers of Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and its Hankins Johnson Education Foundation, Inc. hosted the 2024 Young Men of Distinction (YMOD) mentoring program end of year breakfast Saturday June 8th. In addition to recognizing outstanding performers in the youth mentoring program, nine book scholarships were presented to YMOD mentees. Five $1,000 academic scholarships were awarded to high school seniors with GPAs as high as 4.5. Davonte Bailey-Miles of Timber Creek, Hunter Brown of Lake Brantley, Arturo James Gutzmer of Apopka, Christie Knowles, IV of Hagerty, and Lemuel Robinson of West Orange were the scholarship recipients. Thanks to our sponsors, partners, and supporters, our foundation has awarded $36,900 in scholarships this year.
